Privacy Policy
Federal Employee Benefits Advocates, LLC (“FEBA,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect through registeredfederalbenefitsspecialist.com (the “Site”), how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
1. Who We Are
FEBA is the operator of the RFBS℠ program and is the controller of personal information collected through this Site. FEBA is the parent company of FedEd Academy™. For privacy questions, contact us at contact@registeredfederalbenefitsspecialist.com or by mail at 3295 Co Rd 47, Florence, AL 35630.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Specialist inquiries. When you contact an RFBS℠ designee through this Site, we collect your name, email address, phone number (if provided), state, federal agency or status (if provided), and the contents of your message.
- General contact. When you use a contact or “can’t-find-a-specialist” form, we collect your name, email address, phone (if provided), and message.
- Complaints. When you submit a complaint about a designee or the RFBS℠ program, we collect your name, contact information, the identity of the designee (if applicable), and the details of your complaint.
- Designee applications. If you apply for or hold the RFBS℠ designation, we collect identifying, professional, and licensing information necessary to administer the designation.
- Newsletter and educational mailings. If you opt in, we collect your name and email address to send program updates and educational content. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any message.
2.2 Information We Collect Automatically
- Usage data. We collect basic, aggregated analytics about visits to the Site, including pages viewed, referring URL, approximate geographic region, device type, and browser. Where possible we use privacy-respecting analytics that do not rely on cookies and do not identify individual users.
- Server logs. Our hosting providers automatically log IP addresses, timestamps, and request URLs for security, troubleshooting, and abuse-prevention purposes.
- Marketing pixels. If and when we run paid digital campaigns, we may use industry-standard advertising pixels (for example, Meta or Google). When pixels are active, this section will be updated to identify them, and a cookie banner will be provided where required.
3. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- route your inquiries to the specific RFBS℠ designee you contact;
- respond to general inquiries and complaints;
- administer the RFBS℠ designation, including verification and CE tracking;
- send educational and program communications you have opted into;
- operate, secure, and improve the Site;
- comply with legal obligations, enforce our Terms of Use, and investigate misuse.
4. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as follows:
- With the specialist you contact. When you submit an inquiry to a specific RFBS℠ designee, your inquiry and contact details are delivered to that designee so they can respond to you. The designee operates independently and uses your information under their own privacy practices once it is delivered to them.
- With our service providers. We use vetted third parties to host the Site, store data, deliver email, and operate analytics. Current providers include Vercel (hosting), Supabase (database, US region), and Resend (transactional email). These providers process information on our behalf under written agreements.
- For legal and safety reasons. We may disclose information when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to investigate fraud or misconduct, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of FEBA, our users, or others.
- In a business transfer. If FEBA is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
We do not share federal-employee inquiries with any party other than the specific designee you contact and the service providers necessary to deliver the message. We do not share inquiries with United Benefits, with FedEd Academy™ marketing, or with any partner advisor.
5. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described above. Inquiry and complaint records are retained for at least seven (7) years to support program administration and regulatory requests. Designee records are retained for the duration of designation status plus seven (7) years. Analytics data is retained in aggregated form.
6. Your Choices and Rights
6.1 Marketing Communications
You can unsubscribe from program communications at any time using the unsubscribe link in any message. Transactional messages (for example, a response to a complaint) are not promotional and may continue.
6.2 State Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under state privacy laws — including the California Consumer Privacy Act/CPRA, the Colorado Privacy Act, the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act, and the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act. These rights may include:
- the right to know what personal information we hold about you;
- the right to access or receive a copy of that information;
- the right to correct inaccurate information;
- the right to delete personal information, subject to legal and program-administration exceptions;
- the right to opt out of sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising (we do not sell or so share);
- the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights.
To exercise these rights, email contact@registeredfederalbenefitsspecialist.com with “Privacy Request” in the subject line. We will verify your identity before responding and will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You may also designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf, subject to verification.
6.3 Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
We honor opt-out preference signals (including Global Privacy Control) received from your browser to the extent required by applicable state law.
7. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against loss, misuse, and unauthorized access. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children
This Site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13 (or under 16 in jurisdictions where that is the applicable threshold). If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. International Users
This Site is operated from the United States and intended primarily for US-based federal employees and US-based financial professionals. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.
10. Changes to This Policy
